Marine fish farming has evolved slowly, as there are many variables that can limit before achieving the sustainable cultivation of specie. One of the major factors that determine the culture of a marine species is the high rate of mortality during the early development, mainly on egg and larval stage. This occurs either for environmental factors (biotic or abiotic), parental factors, or handling. Lutjanus argentiventris is a marine fish of which do not exist commercial cultures, and it is only cultured for research purposes. One of the main problems with this specie it is the maturation time (3 years), doing it unattractive for its culture, however, it is easy to handle and respond to environmental stimuli for its spawning (temperature and photoperiod), therefore it is a good model for research, and the results can be extrapolated to another snappers, as Huchinango (Lutjanus peru) for example. It is known that broodstock's diet is essential for the quality of eggs and larvae of many marine fish species, and it has been reported that it is necessary create appropriate diets for broodstock, if wants to get a successful fish marine culture. Also, it is know that the protein and lipid source of squid have improved the egg quality of some species of marine fishes, making it the most effective components of broodstock diet. Its effectiveness has been attributed mainly to its highly protein quality, its high cholesterol and phospholipids content, or its apparent better digestibility coefficient of its proteins. Thus, the main objective of this thesis it is to generate an antecedent of the present transcripts on L. argentiventris embryos, with the purpose of have a better knowledge about its early development biology, regarding the effect of broodstock diets. In this work were made two treatments, one control and another one experimental. During the control treatment were placed in a recirculation tank the broodstock fishes (N=23), where were controlled all the environmental variables (as temperature, photoperiod, salinity, oxygen, nitrates, nitrites), and it was provided an exclusively squid diet [...]
