Las macroalgas son organismos capaces de generar una gran cantidad de compuestos bioactivos. En animales suplementados con macroalgas se ha visto una estimulación del estado antioxidante e inmune. Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar y analizar el efecto de la suplementación con Sargassum spp. en la respuesta antioxidante e inmune de caprinos. Se alimentaron cabras con Sargassum spp. a dos porcentajes (2.5-5%) y además en su combinación con sebo rancio (3%). Se muestrearon y procesaron 12 tejidos (rumen, omaso, abomaso, duodeno, yeyuno, ciego, colon, hígado, bazo, riñón, musculo y moco intestinal) y suero sanguíneo. Se determinó la actividad superóxido dismutasa y catalasa de los 12 tejidos. En respuesta inmune se determinó mieloperoxidasa, lisozima, antiproteasa, IgA e IgG en moco intestinal y suero.
